What Can I Expect During my Blepharoplasty?

Dr. Charles Boyd will perform your blepharoplasty at our Birmingham office. For your comfort, you will be given local anesthesia. Dr. Boyd will begin by carefully making a small incision along the natural creases of your eye, either in the crease of your upper eyelid or along your lower lash line. Through these incisions, he will be able to remove any excess skin contributing to your drooping or puffy appearance.

What Can I Expect During my Blepharoplasty Recovery?

Following your blepharoplasty, you may experience tenderness, bruising, and swelling around your treated areas. This is normal and typically resolves on its own within the following few days. Most of our patients are able to return back to their normal daily activities, including work, about seven to 10 days following their eyelid surgery and make a full recovery within four to six weeks. Dr. Boyd will give you detailed post-operative care instructions prior to your blepharoplasty procedure to ensure a swift and easy recovery period.
