Juvederm® is a minimally invasive injectable used to treat different conditions and areas of the face, including the cheeks, lips, lines, and wrinkles. Each product is made from hyaluronic acid to add volume, help the skin retain moisture and softness, and deliver nutrients to the skin.

With time, the face loses volume, causing the cheeks to flatten, the skin to sag, and lines, wrinkles, and folds to form and deepen. Injectable dermal fillers have been growing in popularity as a minimally invasive alternative to facial cosmetic surgery. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are a popular choice because of their compatibility with the human body.

Recovery time

Recovery time is minimal. We advise patients to avoid strenuous activity, sun exposure, wearing makeup, and consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours post treatment.

Results

The filler can take several weeks to soften and settle into your skin. While most patients achieve the full effect within two weeks after receiving their injections, individual results may vary.

Juvederm® products available:

Juvederm Ulta XC adds fullness and plumps thin lips. With its small particle size, Juvéderm Ultra injections are well suited for treating mild to moderately deep lines and folds and for superficial use, such as in the delicate areas around the eyes.

Juvederm XC is the first formula created for the Juvederm family. It continues to be a popular option for smoothing away wrinkles around the nose and mouth.

Juvederm Voluma corrects age-related volume loss in the cheeks. Whether you are experiencing age-related volume loss or would like to enhance the contours of the cheeks, this may be Juvederm® Voluma may be a solution.

Juvederm Vollure targets wrinkles and folds, particularly those around the nose and mouth. This area is commonly referred to as nasolabial folds.

Juvederm Volbella is a lip injectable, designed for lip augmentation and diminishing the appearance of perioral lines or “lipstick lines”. This formula is smooth to ensure the lips maintain their natural look and feel without compromising volume.

Juvaderm Ultra Plus XC is used to add volume to facial tissues and restore a smoother appearance to the face. It is designed to treat areas of the face with moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. The “XC” indicates that the filler contains lidocaine for more comfortable injections.

At BOYD, Dr. Charles Boyd offers a range of advanced facial rejuvenation treatments and Juvéderm dermal fillers.

How Much Does Juvederm® Cost?

How is Juvederm® Administered?

Your Juvederm® treatment will be performed in our BOYD Birmingham, Ann Arbor, or Detroit office. We may apply a topical anesthetic to your treatment area, typically around the under-eyes, cheeks, lips, mouth, and chin. This is to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment. Once your treatment area is numb, we will make a series of strategically placed Juvederm® injections into your treatment area. The entire treatment process typically takes up to 30 minutes to complete.

What Results Can I Expect from Juvederm®?

Because Juvederm® is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment, there is no formal downtime and recovery following each appointment. You may experience mild redness, tenderness, and swelling around your injection sites. These typically resolve on their own within a few hours of treatment. While you will see some results of your Juvederm® treatment immediately, ultimate results will become visible once all swelling subsides, about two to three days following treatment.
